Poster competition!

Poster competition!

So we finally shot some stuff, and are editing it as we speak (or type!). There is a screening on the 30th of October of what we have so far. Part of that is that we need a poster to put up around the cinema it's being held at! So that is why we are having a poster competition!

The peramiters are: you have to make it A1 size, which is 594 × 841 mm or 23.4 × 33.1 inches. It has to be in 100 DPI or higher, and preferably in CMYK, though if needs be, I can convert what you send to that. File type is unimportant and we should be able to work with whatever you send. Send your finished poster entry in a smaller size to me at the email address below on or by the 25th, making sure to keep the full sized one incase your entry gets shortlisted.

The deadline is Saturday the 25th of October! Send the submissions to: internetzombiemovie @ gmail.com

I am going to make a shortlist on the 25th and have a vote on youtube for the best one, which will get printed and used for the screening on the 30th. The winner will recieve a printed fullsize copy of their poster, and if they live in the UK and or can get to it, can come to the screening with a friend.

So we shot some of the film!!!
It was so amazing to actually see this thing come to life! I had an amazing (and exhausting!) time. I want to thank all the people who were there and helped out in any way. Without the dedication and extremely hard work of everyone involved, it wouldn't have happened.
I will be posting more excessively grateful thanks to everyone in the next few weeks, but I have to do another 921904 things before the screening on the 30th October (ie, the film needs to be edited, scored, posters need making, credits need accumulating, blogs need to be made, effects need to be specialled) so for now, thankyou thankyou everyone!

Ok, there has been some (ie, fucking loads) of confusion about character names- basically, I am going to make a video on youtube in the next week or so, asking people to come up with the characters' names. The names we have right now are NOT what the characters will be called once we start shooting. So... There.

I met the guy who did the makeup on all these AWESOME films!! It's so cool :D Stuart Conran was the guy I was talking to and Paul Ewen (who's website I would put a link to but I can't find it!) was the guy who did the actual makeup- It looked so cool, I would have gone around and freaked people out with it if I hadn't had to go somewhere right after it :(

Wowwww!! There are so many auditions!! At the moment there are 75! This is so awesome! I'm going to sit down and watch them all during today. I'm going to make a video soon with descriptions of all the main characters in the film, and then have the AUDITIONS!

Basically, there will be some of the script posted, and each person who wants to play a certain character will have a scene to act out infront of the camera. Post it as a video response to the video I make calling for entries. This would be for ALL the main characters, which are from London, NYC, Germany and Australia. There are atleast two male and two female UK leads, and two US leads. There are lots of characters who are going to be in various vlogs, and then of course many many zombies, which will be cast at a later date.

I know this is super soon but I am leaving for the Toronto youtube gathering (go 888!!) so I need to do this right quick!!

Then after that, there is going to be a UK read-through on the 1st August somewhere for whichever people seem like the best actors and the BBC will be there to film it.

Which translates to the Internet Zombie Movie is on the Internet Movie DataBase!! Which is so awesome and exciting! I don't know who put it there or how etc but it's so cool. I hope there's a way to add more people to the cast/production team somehow. I will find out anyways.

ALSO! I was alerted to the fact that the BBC web series was featured on the front page of the BBC's website! It's the most heavily trafficked website in the UK so that pretty much RULES!

The Zombie Walk!!

I just got back from the London Zombie walk!! It was great fun!! Luckily it didn't rain as it was expected to, so we got all the shots we needed!
I dressed as a news reader (from TEH news!) who was reporting on the zombie walk, and then I got bitten (by J0ames!) and filmed by AndyFrogman (I don't know your user name on youtube! :/), who was filming me pretending to do a report to this fancy camera that BenLoka borrowed. It sounds complicated but it will make sense at some point. (ie, when some of the footage gets uploaded!).
I took my stills camera but I didn't get any chances to take photos! Which is lame but I know lots of other people took some photos so I will try to post them soon!! Aswell as the footage we shot with my little sony handicam, a guy called James Smart (www.smartproductions.co.uk) who used to be/is? a broadcast cameraman (with a HUGE camera!) came and filmed some shots for it too, which is so awesome!! (thankyou!!).
The other people who came on the walk (from youtube) were Littlemissjadeykins, oilslug (?), and thewirrow- there were the actual zombiewalk 'people', who also were really cool, and there was one guy who is a professional makeup guy, and he looked really quite creepy!

As we walked (lurched!) down oxford st, we groaned and moaned at passersby, which was really fun. A lady yelled at us, but mostly it was taken in good humour, which is how it was meant (from us alteast- I can't speak for the girl who stole my flyers for the IZM and threw them in the bin after ineffectually trying to rip them in half- I think she was doing the walk for some sort of deep reason. Or she was just in a bad mood?)

Thankyou to everyone who came! I had a great time! I will put up some footage tomorrow hopefully and also post any pictures I can get my fake-blood-stained hands on!

I'll embed them here anyways, so you won't miss them, you just might end up seeing them a little after us brits.

I was alerted by the lovely Daisy to this Zombie Walk scheduled for the 12th July, on Oxford St!! Basically walking the entire way down Oxford St from Marble Arch!

Basically the story idea is that zombie-biting is poo-poohed as a silly youth fad, like happy slapping, which kids are just doing for a laugh, and as such, youtube and the government remove videos of such attacks from the internet and don't report it at all, when REALLY the zombies are real!! And these kids are trying to talk about it online and prove that it's real, but the videos keep getting removed!! and so they are fighting against these zombies and noone knows where they came from or believes that they're even real!

And then these pockets of people who've seen these zombies try to get the message out, and communicate ways of killing the zombies to other people around the world- and the story would go from one place, ie, the UK, to other places, IE, New York, via the internet videos they post and watch....

Anways.. lemme know what you think.

MADDIE:
Sorry for barging in on you like this. Me and Ethan had a fight,
I just wanted to get out of there for a while.

BEN:
A fight? (smiling, he mimes punching himself on the chin)
Well, you're no worse for wear.

MADDIE:
You should see the other guy.
(beat)
He's proposed, Ben. He got this really posh job offer and he's
decided we should get married.
For a moment all we hear is the rain outside. BEN doesn't really react. He sits casually, eyes still toward the floor.

BEN:
Well, he's making a terrible mistake.
(he looks up at her)
You cook for shit.
MADDIE sees he's only kidding and playfully kicks his chair, laughing.
MADDIE:
Shut up. Bastard.

BEN:
So when did this alleged proposal occur?

MADDIE:
Not that long ago, actually. Around half hour, I think?

BEN leans back in his chair, eyes closed and laughing. MADDIE joins in.

BEN:
Then why were you fighting? Did you say no?

MADDIE:
No, I said yes.
BEN hesitates for a microsecond, but recovers well, his face says he's happy. We know he's not.
BEN:
(playful)
Then why are you here? Shouldn't you be out somewhere eating an overpriced steak? Drinking overpriced wine at some overpriced place of celebration? That sort of thing? Isn't that what people normally do when they're deliriously happy?
The mood is becoming less and less light.

MADDIE:
His job offer is in the States. He told me he'd accepted AFTER
I agreed to be his wife. He made that decision without me.
Asshole.

BEN:
Him or me?

MADDIE:
Why, what'd you do?

BEN:
Nothing that I can recall.

MADDIE:
Him, then.

BEN:
Watch it, that's the future Mr. Maddie you're talking about.

A beat passes..

BEN:
When's the wedding?

MADDIE:
Don't know.

BEN:
When do you leave?

MADDIE:
Two weeks from Saturday.
(takes on last long drink from her bottle, holds it up)
Please, sir. May I have some more?

BEN:
(wide-eyed, standing up)
MOOOOORE? The chemistry is coming back, the tension is lifting. MADDIE'S CELL PHONE rings. BEN retreats to the kitchen to fill the order as she answers. We don't really hear what's being said. BEN collects the beers and walks back into the living area. MADDIE is putting her cell phone away, somewhat hurried. She walks toward the door.

MADDIE:
That was Ethan. I'm sorry, Ben. I have to go.

BEN:
Is everything alright?

MADDIE:
I don't know. The police are evacuating our neighborhood. Gas leak or something. I'll call you when I find out what's happening.

Ok so you if you want to be in the film in an acting part, take part in the online auditions!! Below are the character synopses. Please bear in mind that these aren't finalised, and may change as the script changes. Ontop of this there are loads of other characters, but these are the main scripted ones so far. There will be lots of opportunities to be in the movie even if not as one of these characters.

If you want to be a part of it, you can:
-share plot ideas and help write the script over on the forum.
-take part in one of the zombie gatherings, which will be taking place in London, New York City, and all over the globe, for large extras scenes. (stay tuned to this blog for dates, times and places)
-email internetzombiemovie (AT) gmail.com, telling us your location and skillz, with links to anything you've previously done (ie youtube videos).
-become a sponsor of the movie- we need film equipment and special effects and locations and, well, everything you'd need for a low budget horror movie!! Do you have a ton of ketchup you don't want? let us know!! Anyone who sponsors the movie would get a credit at the end of the film! (woo!)
