the storyline.. revealed!! (sort of)

New video! It's here, or watch it below...

Basically the story idea is that zombie-biting is poo-poohed as a silly youth fad, like happy slapping, which kids are just doing for a laugh, and as such, youtube and the government remove videos of such attacks from the internet and don't report it at all, when REALLY the zombies are real!! And these kids are trying to talk about it online and prove that it's real, but the videos keep getting removed!! and so they are fighting against these zombies and noone knows where they came from or believes that they're even real!

And then these pockets of people who've seen these zombies try to get the message out, and communicate ways of killing the zombies to other people around the world- and the story would go from one place, ie, the UK, to other places, IE, New York, via the internet videos they post and watch....

Anways.. lemme know what you think.

Sounds pretty sweet. You should try getting in touch with Microfilmmaker Magazine and other smallish online mags if you need more help. Or just to get the word out.

Just a follow-up... the viral video thing is cool, and talking about the relationships between mainstream and more viral media is cool. I think the government-being-responsible-for-zombies is a bit cliched now, just since it's been the main source of zombies in a lot of other movies. It might even be cool if you didn't even know how the zombies came about, they just did, and the internet and viral videos and whatnot gave people the ability to come together and find friends and help and stuff.

Also, about the split-up-film idea, you could try it in a Four Rooms style, where there's someone or something that carries through the whole thing (like zombies... but something else might help too), keeping it all together, but there are still totally separate storylines that are all tied together through the one main thing, whatever that is. Maybe I should become a forum member... heh.

I've been talking with my best friend about this. He owns The Zombie Survival Guide, and I've read parts of it. He's incredibly well versed in his zombie knowledge, and we came up with a theory. Yes, where we're from, zombies would be a welcome change and we think about it quite often. We've theorized that a zombie outbreak, if it were to actually happen, would only last a few months because of the rotting of the corpses. I think it should end with some rotten zombies...but that's just me.

Hey there, just wanted to make a couple of suggestions and a couple of points. First, i agree that the government being responsible is a bit cliched, so I was thinking: what if it is some corporation that is responsible (like how Kodak use to pour all the used chemicals in the river behind one of their largest plants and people were being poisoned?) It could be something similar, but instead the chemicals would kill people, but the combination of the chemical and some element or SOMETHING caused a scientific anomaly allowing the dead to walk and for some reason desire human flesh. Or they could just be horribly violent and destructive. I don't really think the accidental (as far as "whoops nobody even knew this was possible, we were simply dumping chemicals in the river") angle has ever been played. Another thing I wanted to comment on is the transition from online video to the real world. I like that, but it should only be used at most a couple of times. Something like that can distract from the overall plot and be a stylistic mistake that will pull people out of the film. But a couple of times...great! And perhaps, since you had the idea to have people dress up as zombies and bite people, why not incorporate one of these zombie walks into the picture? Unless that's what gave you the idea in the first place.
Anyway, that's is my two cents about the plot.

The 4 rooms movie idea is great. Since no one probably wants to travel around to carry and tie everything together maybe Ebay could help move an item that links everything together.

Your conspiracy idea is very edgy it could really work you have a strong vision.
Perhaps you need to have a main character- a star ( maybe yourself!! Wayhey ) and we will care about what happens to her in the end, like her family are in NY and she had to stay behind cos she has a broken leg or something, then her ony joy youtube is taken from her. Life sucks... then the heroine broken leg has to combat zombies all by herself... something epic about that. meanwhile- NYC family is under threat... etc. just a thought.

I think Jared has a pretty good idea going on there, although I've just had a thought on the plot.

You know a year or so ago when seven people died (or something) in a medical trial that went horribly wrong? Well... Perhaps you could name/make up some awful condition that causes the cells in the body to die or summat (how about necrosis? Info/disgusting picture here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necrosis), and several people with quite severe [cell-deadingness-illness] recieve medication to attempt to reverse the condition. They die: media goes "ah noo" (haha media, again!). BUT... During autopsy, one of them awakes! Turns out the retrovirus used to carry the gene therapy thing or whatnot isn't as well tested as they thought. Cue zombie outbreak.
Of course, you could just do an old 'mutated-version-of-rabies' thing, or biogerontologists (Wiki it :D ) make some baaad mistake.

Yes, I myself subscribe to not one but two scientific magazines and know that's pretty much impossible. But who cares? Zombies = awesome. :P I think I'mma become forum member.

It sounds wonderful! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with next!

some of the stuff you were saying made me think... why bother with making a "film" at all? why not just release lots of viral clips online? it may well get more views...

The soundtrack, highlighting pulsing, insistent synthesizer chords, contributes much to the onscreen tension, which the action choreography is exemplary. An unlikely masterpiece.
